On Monday morning, a 56-year-old man was arrested after deputies said he fired his shotgun at a garage door.
After 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident involving a firearm at a home in the 12600 block of Tatoosh Road East in South Hill.
According to deputies, a 911 caller reported that a man inside the home was waving a gun and threatening to shoot.
When deputies arrived, they started to get people safely out of the home.
According to investigators, as deputies were in the driveway, the man fired a shotgun several times at a garage door.
At least one deputy was hit by the debris, but there were no serious injuries.
Investigators said there were still people inside the home, and someone was able to secure the gun when the suspect set it down. She hid the gun and got out of the house.
Deputies said the suspect broke out of a window and tried to run away, but deputies took him into custody.
